Barbara Jean (Smith) Morehead went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital. She was 74 years old, born February 13, 1938.

Barbara was married to Bobby Gene Morehead on March 21, 1953. Out of that union there were five children, Cliff Morehead and wife, Cris of Boaz, Kathy Myrick and husband, Randy of Boaz, Larry Morehead Sr. and wife, Roberta of Fulton, Ky., Bruce Morehead Sr. and wife, Tina of Metropolis and Bobby Morehead Sr. and wife, Kathy of Hardin, Ky.

Her siblings are Mildred Cozart and husband, James, Jack Smith and wife, Jill, Gordon Smith and wife, Kana, and Suzie Isgrigg and husband, Mark. She had 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Morehead; her parents, Gene and Mageline Smith; her brother, Jack Smith; her granddaughter, CaSondra Morehead; and an infant child.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
