“The Avengers”
It’s finally time. “The Avengers” — Tony Stark, Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, the Black Widow and Hawkeye — come together to stop Loki and his army from destroying the world.
The buzz: Let me be very clear with this: Every action-hero movie has been pretty great. But add all of our favorites together and put them on the big screen? I will be there waiting in line wearing my Captain America T-shirt like everyone else. One word to the wise, however. Check out the movie in 3-D. It’s more poignant and really packs a punch.
Showing at: Cinemark
Length: 140 minutes
3-D show times: 1 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 2:25 p.m., 4:05 p.m., 5:35 p.m., 7:10 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Real digital show times: Noon, 3:10 p.m., 4:50 p.m., 6:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“Bully”
Although “Bully” was at Maiden Alley Cinema last week, this week’s Friday showing comes with a special guest: director Lee Hirsch. Hirsch will be giving a special talk before the Friday screening, shedding light on the movie that has spread the anti-bullying message across the nation.
Showing at: Maiden Alley Cinema
Length: 98 minutes
Lee Hirsch Screening: 7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $10.
Other show times: 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
