KUTTAWA — Donnie Gene Wright, 76, of Kuttawa died Tuesday at Southgate Health Care Nursing Center in Metropolis, Ill.
Mr. Wright was retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant with over 22 years service, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and three tours of duty in the Korean War. He was also retired from the Postal Service in Carbondale, Ill., with six years service. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 68 in Kuttawa.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Kmucha Wright; two sons, Alan Wright of Kuttawa, and Jeff Wright of Conway, S.C.; one daughter, Dawna Brightman of Honea Path, S.C.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two half brothers and six half sisters, all of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and one grandchild. His parents were Everett Wright and Evelyn Gearhart Wright.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Kenny Morrow officiating.
