Kendra Lillian Payne and Richard Shane “Shay” Mitchell were united in marriage July 30 at First Baptist Church Carson Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Music was provided by Devonda Treece of Paducah, pianist; the Watkins Family Strings of Paducah; Victor Mazzone of Los Angeles and Emily Yocum of Paducah, vocalists.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Tena Payne of Paducah.

The groom is the son of Judy Parrish of Murray and the late Roger Mitchell.

The bride chose her sister, Miss Alexa Payne of Louisville, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Laken Mitchell of Murray, daughter of the groom; Miss Tracy Gooch of Lexington; and Miss Kelly Penix of Mayfield.

The groom chose Keith Brown of Farmington as his best man. Groomsmen were Logan Mitchell of Murray, son of the groom; Ryan Payne of Paducah, brother of the bride; and Mike Mineer of Wallingford. Serving as ushers were Eric Mitchell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Shaun Mitchell of Murray, brothers of the groom; and Nick Petterson of Orlando, Fla.

A reception followed at St. Thomas More Catholic Church Parish Hall. Serving as guest register attendants were Brenn Hagarty, Claire Hagarty and Caye Hagarty, all of Belleville,  Ill., and Allison Petterson of Orlando.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of St. Mary High School, a 1999 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in advertising, and a 2009 graduate of Murray State University with a master’s degree in organizational communication. She is employed by The Paducah Sun.

The groom is a 1988 graduate of Calloway County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health in 1995 from Murray State University. He is employed by S.M. Stoller in Kevil.

The couple reside in Paducah.
