Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bynum of Reidland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Baptist Church fellowship hall, 500 Oaks Road. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple request no gifts. A cruise is also planned at a later date.

Mr. Bynum and the former Phlecia Faye O’Brien were married Feb. 1, 1962, by the Rev. Morris Stroud at Fountain Avenue Methodist Church in Paducah. Their attendants were Dorothy Slankard and Sam Bynum.

Mrs. Bynum is a retired registered nurse. She is the daughter of the late Willie and Theo O’Brien.

Mr. Bynum is retired from B.F. Goodrich and Westlake Monomers in Calvert City and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184. He is the son of the late Nat and Lucille Bynum.

They have two sons: Todd Bynum of Bloomington, Ind., and Ben Bynum of Reidland; and three granddaughters.
