METROPOLIS, Ill. — Rachel Lorraine Redenour and Brett Aaron Geist were united in marriage Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church in Metropolis with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Music was provided by Amy Geist of Millstadt and Loni Bass of Carbondale, vocalists; and Mark Warnock of Columbia, pianist.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Bruce and Eleanor Redenour of Karnak.
The groom is the son of Terry and Debbie Geist of Columbia.
The bride chose her sisters, Miss Leah Redenour and Miss Alanna Redenour, both of Karnak, as her maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jordan Rumsey of Louisville, Ky., Miss Annie Bellantone of Troy and Mrs. Keli Billingsley of Urbana. Serving as flower girls were Miss Jaylyn Geist and Miss Adley Geist, daughters of T.J. and Amy Geist of Millstadt.
The groom chose his brother, T.J. Geist, as his best man. Groomsmen were Caleb Billingsley of Urbana, Robbie Starr and Adam Rose, both of Columbia, and Ryan Smith of Bolivar, Mo. Serving as ushers were Joe McBroom and Matt Trembly of Columbia.
A reception followed at the Metropolis Community Center. Miss Lauren Baugh of Antioch, Tenn., attended the guest registry. Miss Makenna Laxton and Miss Malanie Laxton of Columbia distributed guest favors.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Massac County High School in Metropolis and a 2011 graduate of the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. She is employed by Cazoodle Inc. in Champaign as a system engineer/business developer.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Columbia High School in Columbia and attended Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville. He is a student at Parkland College in Champaign. He is employed by Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana and is the assistant worship leader at the Redeemer Church in Champaign.
The couple reside in Urbana.
