Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Willett of Paducah will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s cafeteria, 6705 Old U.S. Hwy. 45. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. Willett and the former Mary Denise Scheer were married Nov. 21, 1946, by the Rev. Henry L. Willett at St. John’s Catholic Church. Their attendants were Maurice Scheer and Rita Mae Willett.

Mrs. Willett is the daughter of the late William Scheer Sr. and the late Odelia Scheer.

Mr. Willett is a retired machinist for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He is the son of the late Clark and Ida Willett.

They have six children: William Clark Willett, Ruth Kaufman, Hilda Brewer, Betty McManus and Harold Willett, all of Paducah, and James Willett of New Richmond, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
