SOMERSET — Rebecca Anne Schleter and Douglas West Harris were united in marriage Aug. 19 at the home of the bride’s parents, Dr. Harvey and Donna Schleter in Somerset.

The groom is the son of Doug and Angela Harris of Paducah.

The bride graduated from Southwestern Pulaski High School in 2000, received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the the University of Kentucky and received her doctorate in optometry from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She now practices optometry in Mt. Sterling and Stanton with the practice of Helderman & Jacobs.

The groom graduated from Lone Oak High School in 2002, received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from Murray State University and received his doctorate in dentistry from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He now has his own dental practice, Harris Family Dentistry, in Lexington, where the couple reside.
