Todd and Shane Hicks of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelley Suzann Hicks, to Justin Tyler McGregor, son of Terry and Vicki McGregor of Benton.

Miss Hicks is the granddaughter of Buddy and Barbara Hicks of Paducah and the late Smitty and Brenda Simons. She is a 2006 graduate of Lone Oak High School and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She is an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and is employed by West Towne Pharmacy.

Mr. McGregor is the grandson of Mary Ruth Grigsby of Florence, Ala., Lloyd and Anita Grigsby of Fackler, Ala., and Brooks and Daphina McGregor of Benton. He is a 2004 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health in 2008 and a master’s degree in safety management in 2009, both from Murray State University. He is employed by United Barge Line in Metropolis, Ill.
