Harold and Bobbi Buchanan of Symsonia announce the engagement of their daughter, Nikki Jo Buchanan, to Brandon Charles Doughty, son of Charlie and Barbara Doughty of Calvert City.

Miss Buchanan is the granddaughter of Wangola Forth of Symsonia and the late Danny Forth, and Robert Buchanan of Connecticut and the late Barbara Buchanan. She is a 2001 graduate of Graves County High School in Mayfield and attended West Kentucky Community & Technical College. She is employed by Paducah Retinal Center in Paducah.

Mr. Doughty is the grandson of the late Levena and Tom Dossett and the late Willard and Catherine Doughty. He is a 2003 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned an associate degree from West Kentucky Community & Technical College. He is employed by Computer Systems Inc. in Paducah.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm. All friends and relatives are invited.
