Dr. Bruce and Eleanor Redenour of Karnak, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Lorraine Redenour, to Brett Aaron Geist, son of Terry and Debbie Geist of Columbia, Ill.

Miss Redenour is the granddaughter of Bill and Carol Baugh of Paducah, the late Lorraine Baugh, and Jean Redenour of Grand Chain, Ill., and the late Joe Redenour. She is a 2007 graduate of Massac County High School and is attending the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where she is a December candidate for a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. She is employed by Cazoodle, Inc. of Champaign as a system’s administrator.

Mr. Geist is the grandson of Dave Evans of Columbia and the late Dottie Evans, and Clyde and Wanda Geist of Cahokia, Ill. He is a 2001 graduate of Columbia High School in Columbia, attended Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville and is enrolled at Parkland College in Champaign. He is employed by Busey Bank in Urbana and is the assistant worship leader of the Redeemer Church in Champaign.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church in Metropolis, Ill.
