Mr. and Mrs. John C. Brooks Jr. of Paducah will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Mr. Brooks and the former Beverly Ann Mayhugh were married Aug. 26, 1961, by the Rev. William T. Evitts at Smithland Baptist Church. Their attendants were Paul Arant and Peggy Mayhugh Travis, sister of the bride.

Mrs. Brooks is a retired school bus driver for the McCracken County Transportation System. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Lavern Mayhugh.

Mr. Brooks is retired from SKW in Calvert City. He is the son of the late Cleo and Edith Brooks.

They have one daughter, Lisa Threatt of Paducah; and one grandson.
