Shannon and Tonya Ellington of Boaz announce the engagement of their daughter, Phlecia Genan Ellington, to Joshua Daniel Sullivan, son of Dan and Cheri Sullivan of Lexington.

Miss Ellington is the granddaughter of Judy Scarbrough of Boaz and the late Charles Scarbrough, and Joel and Geneva Ann Ellington of Paducah. She is a 2007 graduate of Graves County High School in Mayfield and earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2011 from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She is employed by F.Y.E. in Lexington.

Mr. Sullivan is the grandson of John Sr. and Jane Conley of Johnson City, Tenn., and Ann Sullivan of Johnson City and the late James Sullivan. He is a 2005 graduate of Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington and earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications in 2010 from the University of Kentucky. He is employed by Dick’s Sporting Goods and F.Y.E. in Lexington.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. Aug. 13 at Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield. All friends and relatives are invited.
