Mark and Kitty Anderson of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Bridget Catherine Anderson, to James Werner Medley II, son of Phil and Lynn Medley of Bardstown.

Miss Anderson is the granddaughter of Charlotte and Michael McCrate of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and the late Del and Verner Anderson. She is a 2005 graduate of St. Mary High School and earned a master’s degree in health science/speech language pathology in 2011 from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Mr. Medley is the grandson of Mary Evelyn Fenwick of Bardstown and the late Jerry Fenwick, and Dorothy Medley of Loretto and the late James Medley. He is a 2004 graduate of Nelson County High School in Bardstown and is attending the University of Kentucky. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

An August wedding is planned at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah.
