Ronald and Elizabeth Douglas of Metropolis, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Anne Douglas, to Canaan Matthew Montgomery, son of Richard and Tara Montgomery of West Paducah.

Miss Douglas is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Sue Bormann of Metropolis and Leary and Nancy Douglas of Brookport, Ill. She is a 2006 graduate of Massac County High School in Metropolis and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2010 from Murray State University in Murray, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She is employed by the C.A. Jones Management Group, LLC in Murray.

Mr. Montgomery is the grandson of Wilford and Judy Davenport of West Paducah and Bill and Lola Montgomery of West Paducah. He is a 2006 graduate of Heath High School in West Paducah and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry in 2010 from Murray State University. He is a second-year student at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at Zion United Church of Christ in Metropolis. All friends and relatives are invited. Only out-of-town invitations are being sent.
