Mr. and Mrs. Morris Shelton of Lone Oak celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the home of their daughter and son-in-law.

Mr. Shelton and the former Jeanne Carroll were married June 21, 1946, by Alonzo Williams in Paducah. Their attendants were Russell Shelton, brother of the groom, and Marilyn Stoltenberg.

Mrs. Shelton is the daughter of the late Eugene and Mildred Carroll. Mr. Shelton retired from Martin Marietta. He is the son of the late Orville and Bessie Shelton.

They have two children: Wayne Shelton and Julia Smithmier, both of Paducah; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
