Vondale and Janet Perkey of Batesville, Ark., announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Miranda Perkey, to Dr. R. Matthew Scott, son of Randall and Alicia Scott of La Center.

Dr. Perkey is the granddaughter of Chester and Bonnie Hawkins of Batesville, Ark., and Von and Bertha Perkey of Batesville. She is a 2004 graduate of Batesville High School, a 2008 graduate of Arkansas State and a May graduate of Washington University of St. Louis with a doctorate in physical therapy. She will be employed by Western Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Scott is the grandson of Lou Scott of La Center and the late Everette Earl Scott, and the late L.J. and Louise Stubblefield. He is a 2004 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School, a 2008 graduate of Transylvania University and a May graduate of Washington University of St. Louis with a doctorate in physical therapy. He will be employed by Western Baptist Hospital.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. June 18 in Jonesboro, Ark.
