Band tries to be as close to the original shows as possible
There are certain things concert-goers aren’t likely to see in this day and age. An authentic, all-out stage show by Pink Floyd is one of them. It’s nearly impossible to get all four members of the band together, especially after their last appearance in 2008.
The Pink Floyd Experience has an answer to that.
“You aren’t going to see the band together, but there are plenty of people who still love Pink Floyd,” said Tom Quinn, lead guitarist for the cover band Pink Floyd Experience. “But we bring those memories back and let people experience what it is like to be at a real concert.”
The Pink Floyd tribute band has spent years entertaining the world with the same stadium-style shows as the original band, playing the hits crowds have grown to love. Saturday’s show at the Carson Center will be much of the same.
“This is a world-class Pink Floyd show,” Quinn said. “You have all the greatest hits, the lights, the mood. We try to be as close to the original shows as possible.”
The band’s show at the Carson Center will feature Pink Floyd’s album “Animals” in its entirety, along with some of the band’s other greatest hits. It is part of the Experience’s tour, which spans 40 cities in eight weeks.
The Pink Floyd Experience will be at the Carson Center Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be bought online or through the Carson Center box office, and start at $25.
“You get in and out of buses, and you are exhausted,” Quinn said. “But having a great crowd gives you all of that energy back.”
