LEXINGTON -- Second-ranked McCracken County collected a pair of wins Saturday at the Fayette County Invitational baseball tournament.
In the opener against eighth-ranked Lafayette, the Mustangs broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning on their way to a 1-0 victory. Luke Seed tossed six scoreless innings, allowing only one hit, before Mason Vinyard earned the save with a nifty seventh. Seed fanned 11.
The Mustangs scored the only run they would need in the top of the sixth inning, as Kiael Waldon was hit by a pitch, moved to second on Nathan Bynum's sacrifice bunt, stole third and and scored on a passed ball.

McCracken County 5, Sayre 1 -- In the second game of the day, against Sayre, Caleb Reinhardt fanned 10 and gave up just one run while the Mustang bats came to life in support.
Will Sykes opened the second inning with a double and scored on an error. In the fourth, Rook Ellington singled, stole second and scored on Trent Shelby's single. James Michael Dodd singled in Shelby to take a 3-0 lead. The Mustangs added one more in the fifth on Daniel Myatt's RBI double and the final run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly.
