Graves' Naranjo blanks Murray

Staff report

MAYFIELD -- Jordyn Naranjo struck out 16 batters, tossing a one-hitter, as Graves County blanked Murray 2-0 Wednesday in high school baseball.

It was a pitchers' duel as Casey Wilson-Ward took the loss for Murray, giving up only one hit as well, but both Eagle runs were unearned as the Tigers committed three costly errors.

The Eagles plated their first run in the third inning with an error and hit batter putting runners on base. Both advanced on a wild pitch, and a run scored on an infield ground out. The Eagles scored again in the fourth as Lane Howell reached on an error, Levi Nesler singled and moved Howell to third, and Naranjo hit a grounder to second, scoring Howell.
