Comets' Hayden tosses no-hitter

Bardwell -- Carlisle County's Corbet Hayden tossed a perfect game Tuesday against Fulton City in a 10-0 win. The Comets needed only three hits to score 10 runs in the five-inning contest.

Hayden was untouchable, posting 11 strikeouts. The only extra-base hit for Carlisle came in the fourth inning, when Koleman Yarbrough doubled in Zach Sarles for the ninth Comet run followed by Jackson Bruer's RBI single to left. Blake Nelson singled in a pair in the first inning to get the Comets a 4-0 lead.

Hickman County 13, Fulton County 2 -- At Hickman, freshman Parker Estes lit up the scoreboard, literally, with a fourth inning, two-run line drive home run that hit the scoreboard and pushed Hickman County over Fulton County. It was the first dinger of the year for Estes, who added a double and single to go 3-for-3 with three RBI.

The Falcons took advantage of three consecutive walks in the first inning to eventually create six runs and put the game in the hands starting pitcher Will Templeton. In all, Hickman County used four pitchers in the game for a combined stat line of two runs on three hits, seven strikeouts and two walks.

Lyon 10, Murray 0 -- At Eddyville, Sophie Bingham pitched a two-hitter and Lyon County got all the runs it would need in the first inning to dump Murray. Bingham struck out eight and gave up one walk in the five-inning game.
