The Murray State softball team split a pair of extra-inning games with Tennessee Tech on Friday at Racer Field after the Golden Eagles rallied in the seventh to force extras in each contest. The Racers fell in eight innings in the opener, 3-2, but picked up a 3-2 win in the eight-inning finale.
In game two, Murray State built a 2-0 lead with RBI singles from Jocelynn Rodgers and Kaylee Ranburger in the first and fifth innings, respectively. For the second straight game, the Racers had Tennessee Tech down to its last strike, but the Golden Eagles rallied with a double and single.
Jessica Twaddle and Rodgers led off the eighth with back-to-back singles. In the next at bat, Madison Culver brought Twaddle home off a sacrifice fly to left field for the 3-2 win.
