Racers tune up for OVC Championships

Murray State wrapped up its stay at the Big Blue Invitational hosted by Tennessee State University at the Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville with a third-place finish in a field of 13 teams Tuesday.

The Racers carded scores of 303-295-302--900 and finished three shots from second place Detroit Mercy (887) and 10 from winner UT Martin (880).

Austin Knight led the Racers with a sixth-place finish on scores of 72-72-74--218, while Matthew Winder had scores of 75-74-74--223. Gabe Wheeler placed 19th after scores of 78074-74--226 and Avery Edwards placed 44th on scores of 79-75-80--234. Matthew Zakutney was 62nd on scores of 78-82-82--242. Justin Wendling placed 19th overall and second among the eight individuals in the field with scores of 76-75-75--226.
