GULF SHORES, Ala. -- McCracken County softball moved to 11-3 on the season with a pair of victories Saturday against Grafton, Wisconsin, following a 13-3 win in five innings with a 15-0 win in three innings.
In Game 1, it was a three-run homer from Lindsey Carroll in the top of the third inning that broke the game open, and it was her fourth dinger in as many games.
A grand slam from Abby Shoulders clearly defined a seven-run fifth for the Lady Mustangs, who then held Grafton scoreless in the bottom of the frame for the victory.
Shoulders went 1-for-4 with four RBI, Carroll went 1-for-4 with three RBI, Hannah Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Kalli Harris went 2-for-4 with two RBI. The Lady Mustangs managed seven extra-base hits.
In the second contest, McCracken County rested most of its starters and came away with a win in quick fashion.
Lakyn Largent pitched the first game for the Lady Mustangs, while Natalie Lang pitched the second and moved to 3-0 on the year.
