Ballard Memorial graduate Clay Chandler, a Southeast Missouri State senior pitcher, was named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Chandler picked up his first-ever save to cap a win for the Redhawks over nationally-ranked Missouri on Tuesday, but saved his best for his weekend start. Against Austin Peay on Saturday, Chandler threw seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits in the SEMO win.
It's the fourth career OVC weekly award for Chandler, who is second in the league with a 2.66 ERA.
