Carlisle bats quiet in loss
DESTIN, Fla. -- Bryan Station pitching handcuffed the Carlisle Comets, and the Defender bats took advantage of eight Comet errors to hand the Comets a 8-4 loss Saturday at the Fort Walton Beach Bash.
The Comets scored first in the third inning as Daven McGee singled, stole second and third, and scored on a Michael Thomason grounder.
But Bryan Station answered in the bottom half with a single, walk, and error setting up a sacrifice fly run and a double by Jaden Goodwin for two more.
The Defenders added four more in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 8-1 going into the seventh.
With two outs, the Comets started a rally when Jake Hobbs and Koleman Yarborough each singled then executed a double steal. Hobbs scored on Blake Nelson's single, but the rally fizzled out.
