Lady Comets stung at Beach Bash

Hancock County 6, Carlisle County 1 -- At Destin, Florida, Carlisle County committed eight errors in its first game at the Florida Beach Bash as the Hancock County Lady Hornets stung the Lady Comets 6-1 Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Comets started hot scoring one run in the first inning with three singles by Brittany Morris, Emily Newsome and Christina O'Daniel. But the defense faltered in the bottom half as two errors resulted in two runs for the Lady Hornets.

Allison Blackwell kept the Lady Comets in the game until the sixth inning when three errors and two doubles plated four runs for the Lady Hornets. Blackwell took the loss giving up six runs (four unearned) limiting the Lady Hornets to eight hits while walking three and striking out four.
