For Paducah couple Mike and Ginger Moore, a favorite spot in their West Paducah home is their formal dining room. Recently given a fresh coat of light silver-blue paint, the dining area has been a room of celebrations.
According to Ginger one of the reasons it's her favorite spot is that so many good things have been celebrated around the table. She loves to think of all the memories that have been made there.
"We've had so many family dinners, Bible studies, bridal showers, baby showers and more in this room," says Ginger.
The home and dining room is decorated in a French country style, with the centerpiece being a dark mahogany table with eight chairs and a matching china cabinet, all in the Henredon style.
The dining set itself has quite the story, as it was gifted to the Moores by the parents of some good friends. In fact, Ginger silently admired the furniture years before when visiting her friend's parents. Years later the parents decided to get rid of the furniture - to a thrift store - so you can imagine Ginger's surprise when her friend stepped in and told her parents that she knew exactly where it needed to go.
The collection has now graced the Moores' dining room for many years and gets decorated with the changing seasons and enjoyed as often as possible. "I've had people eat here almost every single Sunday," says Ginger.
It's a room that will no doubt continue to be a favorite of the Moores and will welcome friends and family for years to come. n
