FULTON -- The valedictorian of the Class of 2016 at Fulton Independent School was Rose Caroline Rushing, the daughter of Robert and Susan Rushing.
Rushing will be attending John Brown University in Arkansas, majoring in Christian ministries with an emphasis in child and family studies. Some of her greatest accomplishments in high school were starting Fellowship of Christian Bulldogs and encouraging the younger students to keep the club active. Her achievement also include attaining CCR, College and Career Ready.
The salutatorian was Hallie Elizabeth Carter, the daughter of Brent and Sabrina Carter.
Carter will be attending Western Kentucky University to study film. She hopes to eventually be a professional editor or director. Some of her greatest accomplishments in high school were attending GSP the summer before her senior year. "It completely changed my outlook on life. I broke out of my shell and became a better leader," she said. She also attained CCR, College and Career Ready.

Mariah Elizabeth Davis, daughter of Tammy Sawisch, University of Tennessee at Martin; William Zachary Howard, son of Angie Smith and George Howard, undecided college, will pursue a bachelors degree; Lauren McKenzie Kelly, daughter of Kim Kelly and Les Kelly, West Kentucky Community and Technical College; Tinequa Noonan Pryor, daughter of Barbara Misher Luther Misher, Murray State University and then medical school.
