Members of the West Kentucky Winegrowers Association present their wine awards during the seventh annual President's Awards Banquet Monday at The Pasta House in Paducah. Bob Hoppmann, president of the association, said the group of wine makers and enthusiasts seek to promote the wine trade in western Kentucky. The contest featured 74 bottles of various local wines, judged by a panel of 8 judges from the University of Kentucky and local wine store owners. Hoppmann: "West Kentucky is finally coming into its own and I predict in 5 or 10 years, we'll have another 5 to 10 wineries within a 30-mile radius of this place."
