Fred Hicks does the waltz with enthusiasm on Friday afternoon in front of Kroger in Hannan Plaza. Hicks dances from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day for a week in front of the grocery store he once worked at for 33 years in order to raise money for the Easter Seals Telethon of the Stars running Nov. 10 and 11. He has done this for 12 years. While taking his yearly vacation time off, Hicks decided to begin taking donations at the doors of Kroger for the telethon without dancing in mind. It wasn't until a customer suggested to add the music and dancing that Hicks realized what a perfect combination it would be with his dancing background. Hicks says he is contemplating whether or not this will be his last year dancing, even though he raised $8,200  last year,. Either way his dedication to the cause and his dancing will be remembered by all Kroger's staff and customers.
