Dr. and Mrs. Burton R. Young of Murray announce the engagement of their daughter, Charlsie Rhea Young, to Jesse Carl Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Williams of Beaver Dam.

Miss Young is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles R. Conley, and the late Robert and Janie Young. She is a 2004 graduate of Murray High School and a 2008 cum laude graduate of Murray State University, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree from McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Samford University, Birmingham, Ala.

Mr. Williams is a 2004 graduate of Murray State University and is pursuing a doctor of optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

Wedding vows will be exchanged Oct. 8 at First United Methodist Church in Murray.
