SMITHLAND — William “Buddy” Joiner, 79, of Smithland passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Joiner was a retired employee of B.F. Goodrich, a Korean War veteran, and a member of The Potter’s House Baptist Worship Center in Livingston County.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Joiner of Smithland; two sons, Eddie Joiner of Grand Rivers and Mike (Ellen) Joiner of Smithland; one daughter. Pamela (Chip) Brown of Owensboro; one stepdaughter, Teresa (Jerome) Alsobrook of Tiline; one stepson, Rock (Sue) Campbell of Grand Rivers; two brothers, Elvis “Bugs” Joiner of Smithland and Russell “Goat” Joiner of Kuttawa; two sisters, Juette Day of Franklin, Tenn., and Mildred Powell of Paducah; five grandsons, William Joiner of Paducah, Micah (Ansley) Joiner of Ledbetter, Lucas Joiner of Smithland, Derek Brown of Nashville, Tenn., and Dustin Brown of Owensboro; four stepgrandchildren, Brandon Campbell of Smithland, Mark Campbell of Smithland, Adam Alsobrook of Tiline and Erica Alsobrook of Tiline; and one great-granddaughter, Victoria Joiner of Burna.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Joiner, and one sister, Bernadette Joiner. His parents were James and Estelle Jones Joiner.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Smith Funeral Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Smith Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Fred Lowrance and Bro. Harold Council officiating. Burial will follow at Smithland Cemetery.

Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland is in charge of arrangements.
