CADIZ — Services for Walter B. Futrell, 90, of Cadiz will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at King’s Funeral Home with Randall Evans and the Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Bristoe Lancaster Cemetery with military rites conducted.
Mr. Futrell died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.
He was a retired seaman/sailor for the U.S. Merchant Marines, a bus driver for Trigg County Schools, and a farmer and beekeeper. He was a member of Cadiz Church of Christ.
He is survived by his two sons, Ricky Futrell of Murray and Sean Futrell of Cadiz; three daughters, Deborah Bland of Michigan, Kathleen Haley of Borden, Ind., and Dallas Edwards of Sydney, Australia; two brothers, John Futrell of Florida and William Futrell Jr. of Cadiz; two sisters, Nellie Futrell Hutchison Chilton of Hopkinsville and Thelma Futrell Freeman of Cadiz; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Futrell; an infant son, Joseph Jerry Futrell; three brothers; and a sister. His parents were William Wyley and Lena Jane Wyatt Futrell.
