MAYFIELD — Virginia Bingham Garrott, 89, of Mayfield died Wednesday at her residence.

She was a retired reporter, society editor of The Mayfield Messenger, and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dan C. Garrott; two sons, Lee C. Garrott of Ten Mile, Tenn., and Ben Garrott of Cadiz; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother; one sister, and one great-grandchild. Her parents were George and Ellie Bingham.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Mayfield with the Revs. Jon Faraone and Larry Walker officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
