MAYFIELD — Services for Tye Wheeler Jackson, 36, of Mayfield will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mid-Continent University with Dr. Keith Roach officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home.

He served as the director of campus security for Mid-Continent University in Mayfield. He also worked as a part-time Livingston County sheriff’s deputy, and previously held a position as a K-9 officer with the Mayfield Police Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a published author.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ned and Janice Jackson Kendall of Mayfield; stepgrandmother, Betty Kendall of Golo; one sister, Brandi Jackson Stiff of Aiea, Hawaii; one stepsister, Angie Tubbs of Sedalia; three stepbrothers, Bryan Kendall, Chase Kendall and Kyle Kendall, all of Golo, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne E. Jackson; and grandparents, N.B and Beauton Wheeler, Flavous Jackson, and Marion and Marcelle Fuller.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mid-Continent University, 99 Powell Road East, Mayfield, KY 42066.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mid-Continent University.
