Thomas Eugene “Tommy” McManus Sr., 83, of Paducah, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 4:01 a.m. at Lourdes hospital.

Thomas was born January 3, 1930, to the late Robert and Birdie McReynolds McManus. He attended Paducah Public School System. He retired as a pipe fitter from Pennwalt/Atochem. Thomas was a charter member of Reidland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon during the early years of the church.

He was the perfect husband and father to his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leila Green McManus; two sons, Thomas E. McManus Jr. and wife Belinda of Paducah, and Billy Frank McManus of Paducah; four grandchildren, Cory Leigh McManus of Clarksville, Tenn., Ian Patrick McManus of Parkville, Mo., Collin Reece McManus of Paducah, and Lindsey Erin McManus Jones and husband Peyton of Paducah; great-grandchildren, Alexandra “Alli” Jones of Paducah, Tristan James McManus, and Dakota Marie “Extra Nice” McManus, both of Parkville, Mo.; two brothers, Robert Charles McManus of Paducah and Jerry Lee McManus of San Antonio, Texas; nieces and nephews, Patricia and Rodney Tucker of Benton, Nora Choat of Paducah, Becky Stinson of Mayfield, Barbara Leuteritz of Clayton, Ind., Jeff McManus, Greg McManus and Tracey Hines, all of Paducah.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia McManus Hines; a niece, Carolyn McManus; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Paul Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
