Susie Nelle Arnett Irvin was born in her family home, Mayfield, Kentucky, on June 6, 1921. She passed away on January 20, 2013. She was 91 years old.
Susie loved her family greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Irvin Ash, and her grandson, dearest beloved, Aaron Ash. One of eight children (number 3), she is also survived by her loving brother, William Coy Arnett, and her sister, Martha Alice Arnett Lents. Susie also has numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews whom she loved but did not see often enough.
After working as an executive secretary in Chicago, Susie had a rewarding career as a wife to her loving husband, Maurice Waldo (Wally) Irvin, and mother to Patricia Ann Irvin and Pamela Sue Irvin in Birmingham-Troy, Michigan. Susie and Wally moved to Miami in 1978. Susie and Patricia moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, in 2008, where Susie spent her final years.
Susie always made time for friends and family. She was the “light” in many people’s lives and brought joy to many family members and friends.
She was an avid duplicate bridge player in Miami and Boynton Beach. She loved gardening, cooking, reading, and Fox News.
Susie was a beautiful person inside and out. She never had a cross word for anyone and spoke highly of all who crossed her path.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013, at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, 621 West Long Lake Road, Troy, Michigan 48098.
