Martha Susan Owen, 64, of Paducah, died Sunday at 2:25 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.

Susan was born in Paducah on June 6, 1948 to the late Ernest H. Owen, Sr. and Martha Virginia Harton Owen. She worked as a barber at Pauley’s for many years. She was also an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and participated in the choir ministry as often as her health permitted.

She was affectionately known as “Meme” and was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Eva Lauren Mitchell Joseph of Paducah; three grandchildren, Kayla Renae Joseph, Natalie Brooke Joseph and Allison Grace Joseph; two sisters, Parettia “Patty” Martin of Bowling Green and Delores “Dee” Spears and husband Bill of Paducah; one brother, Ernie Owen and wife Judy of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
