Stephen and Susan Starks of Benton announce the engagement of their daughter, Tamara Kay Starks, to Jon Christian Lambert, son of Marietta Grissom of Calvert City and John R. Lambert of Newport News, Va.

Miss Starks is the granddaughter of Mary Sawyers of Benton and the late Thomas C. Sawyers, and the late William B. and Doris E. Starks. She is a 1996 graduate of Marshall County High School and is majoring in public relations at Murray State University, where she is employed.

Mr. Lambert is the grandson of Marie Johnson of Calvert City and the late Harvey Johnson, and the late John T. and Norma M. Lambert. He is a 1989 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned an associate degree in 2003 from Mid-America College of Funeral Serivce. He is the owner of Lambert Construction.

Wedding vows will be exchanged July 16 in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. A reception is planned July 23 in Grand Rivers.
