LEXINGTON — Emily Furrie Drake and Scott Thomas McElroy were united in marriage June 18 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Steve Thomas officiating. Music was provided by Tripp Hampton of La Grange, vocalist and pianist; and Allen Brooks of Bardstown, vocalist.

The bride is the daughter of Paul B. and Kelli Drake of Lexington.

The groom is the son of Dr. Bradley and Brenda McElroy of Paducah.

Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. Sarah York, Mrs. Amelia King and Mrs. Bethany Hearn, all of Lexington; Mrs. Brittany Love of Mansfield, Texas; Mrs. Taylor Phillips of Greenwood, S.C.; Mrs. Beth Hill of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Kristen Ojard of Birmingham, Ala.; and Miss Allison McElroy of Paducah.

The groom chose Hunter Cantwell of Louisville as his best man. Serving as groomsmen were Chase Wilson of Paducah; Matt Hill of Tulsa; Connor Ojard of Birmingham; Scott Drake of Lexington; Chris Cherry and Frankie Roberts, both of Louisville; and Will Thomas of Delray Beach, Fla.

A reception followed. Abigail Watkins of Mount Washington, Danielle Waldrop of Lexington and Meri Brooke Cantwell of Paducah attended the guest register.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington and a 2011 graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown with a degree in elementary education. She is employed by the Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington as a kindergarten teacher at Wellington Elementary.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and a 2009 graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown with a degree in biology. He is a third-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

The couple reside in Lexington.
