Samier “Sammy” Spivey, 60, of Paducah died at 1:57 p.m. Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Spivey was of the Baptist faith. He was a heavy equipment operator for Del Denny Construction.

He is survived by one son, Septian Spivey of Sparta, Ill.; one daughter, Belinda Spivey-Nunn of Paducah; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Odell Spivey and Rosie B. Triplett Spivey.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Alfred Anderson and Fred Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
