MURRAY — Sam Elkins, 76, of Murray died Thursday in Wilmington, Ohio.
He was employed at USEC as chief of security and later became a classification officer. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, working in the intelligence office. He was a member of Pentecostal Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Elkins; two daughters, Sheryl Miller of Clarksville, Tenn., and Lori Vogel of Charlton, N.Y.; two sons, Don E. Elkins of Big Sandy, Tenn., and John Lee of Hazel; two sisters, Helen Levergood of Monroe, Mich., and Linda Fody of Plymouth, Mich.; one brother, Danny Elkins of New Concord; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His parents were Hardin Elkins and Edwina Thompson Elkins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Ray Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
