LEXINGTON — Jill Shanna Downey and Rodney Aaron Johnson were united in marriage June 18 at Faith Lutheran Church in Lexington with the Rev. Paul Meier officiating. Music was provided by Bonnie Harstad, organist; Ben Martin, guitarist; and Brad Hoskins, vocalist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Downey of Benton. She is the granddaughter of L. Wayne Maddox of Benton and the late Glenda Maddox, and James C. Downey of Michigan City, Ind., and the late Barbara Downey.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of Versailles. He is the grandson of Mrs. Emma Jean Johnson of Versailles and the late Ray Johnson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bogie.

The bride chose her sister, Miss Anna Downey of Benton, as her maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. Emily Groves, Mrs. Jessica Martin and Miss Jennifer Parker, all of Lexington.

The groom chose his brother, Anthony Johnson of Frankfort, as his best man. Groomsmen were Kary Allen of Versailles, Chris Glass of Lawrenceburg and Chris Johnson of West Palm Beach, Fla. Serving as ushers were James S. Downey of Louisville, brother of the bride, and Kevin Johnson of Lexington.

A reception followed at Keeneland Clubhouse in Lexington.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in materials engineering in 2007 and a master’s degree in business administration in 2011 from the University of Kentucky. She is employed by Tempur-Pedic as a program manager in Lexington.

The groom is a graduate of Woodford County High School in Versailles and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1999 from the University of Kentucky. He is employed by Ceradyne Advanced Technical Ceramics as a process engineer in Lexington.

The couple resides in Lexington.
