MURRAY — Richard “Dick” Gay, 78, of Murray died Tuesday at Paducah Care and Rehabilitation.

He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, and retired from Briggs & Stratton. He had previously retired from the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann Moyal and Sherry Gay, both of Murray; two sons, Leon Miller of Amarillo, Texas, and Richard R. Gray of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Thelma Jean Nielson of Guys Mills, Pa.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Laughter Gay; one son, Sidney Eugene Miller; one brother; and one sister. His parents were William Roland and Grace Derr Gay.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn Orr officiating, and burial will follow in  Murray City Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
