LOUISVILLE — Rema Long Owen of Louisville died October 21, 2012, at her residence.

She was born October 2, 1920. She was a native of Benton, Ky., and a graduate of Murray State University. She was a retired teacher with the Jefferson County School System.

Rema was an avid bridge player and a member of Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Woman’s Club of Louisville, the Jefferson County and Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Owen, and her brother, Bob Long.

Survived by her son, Lewis Owen; sister, Judy Long Small; niece, Jan Small-Beth; nephews, George E. Long II, Bob T. Long Jr. and David Long.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St. Luke’s Chapel of the The Episcopal Church Home, 7504 Westport Road (use Lyndon Lane entrance), Louisville, with burial in Benton, Ky., Cemetery.

Visitation to follow the service at The Episcopal Church Home. Arrangements under the direction of Pearson’s.
