WATER VALLEY — Ralph Allen, 78, of Water Valley, died at 11:11 p.m. Monday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Old Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder for more than 20 years. He retired from the former Henry I. Siegel clothing company, where he worked as a machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Stephens Allen; four sons, Eddie Allen and  Mack Allen, both of Water Valley, Neilly Allen of South Fulton, Tenn., and Otis Allen of California; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jessie Allen of Fulton; one half-brother, Larry Dew of Fulton; one half-sister, Joyce Johnson of Greensboro, Ala., and one stepbrother, Marvin Dew of Willis, Mich.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and six stepbrothers. His parents were Jessie E. Allen and Lilly Mae Jones Allen Dew.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial in Wesley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday until the funeral hour.
