Mr. and Mrs. Paul Park of Paducah will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Mr. Park and the former Juanita “Nita” Shaffer were married Aug. 16, 1947, by the Rev. Charles R. Carrico at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Their attendants were Bill Shoulta and Louise Park.

Mrs. Park is a retired hairdresser. She is the daughter of the late Louis and Alva Shaffer.

Mr. Park is retired from maintenance at Union Carbide. He is the son of the late N.C. and Effie Park.

They are the parents of Paul Bruce Park of Greenville, Texas, and Jennie Freels of Paducah. They have two grandchildren, one stepgrandson, one great-grandchild and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
