COLUMBUS — Mr. and Mrs. Archie Moore of Columbus will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception given by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Joy Center in Arlington. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple request no gifts, but welcome cards.
Mr. Moore and the former Patricia “Patty” Helm were married Oct. 6, 1963, at the Columbus United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles McKenzie. Their attendants were Janice Helm Dean, sister of the bride, Mary Moore Howe, sister of the groom, and William Moore, brother of the groom.
Mrs. Moore is the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Helm.
Mr. Moore is a retired welder from Midland Enterprises-Ingram Barge Co. He is the son of the late Duke and Dorothy Moore.
They have two children: David Moore of Columbus and Beth Gaddie of Arlington; and one grandson.
The couple also plan a trip to Branson, Mo., at a later date.
