HICKORY — Ned C. Ivey, 76, of Hickory died Friday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a retired minister of Hopewell Baptist Church, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, and Viola Baptist Church, a member of the Folsomdale Masonic Lodge, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Linda S. Gibbs Ivey; two sons, Marshall Ivey and Tim Ivey, both of Mayfield; two daughters, April Ivey Cornelius and Angela Ivey Thomas, both of Mayfield; one brother, Johnny Ivey of Mayfield; and one sister, Marilyn Ivey Cash of Mayfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were Payne and Laverne Osbron Ivey;

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Frasier and Glen Cope officiating.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home and after noon Monday at the church.
